After his role on a production line was made redundant, Cameron began to consider a career shift into the care sector, opting to undertake specialised training.

Exploring his options through online research and consultation with his mother, Cameron felt that genU Training stood out among all other training providers.

“I chose genU Training because of the professionalism,” Cameron reflects. “Everyone was kind and that made me feel comfortable.”

Commencing his studies early last year, Cameron clicked with Andy, his trainer, almost instantaneously.

“Andy’s training is really in depth,” he says. “She explains things in different ways so that people can learn and understand better.”

Throughout his studies, Cameron always felt connected to Andy and the rest of his class with frequent emails and check-ins. He found that the course suited his lifestyle perfectly and that assessment extensions were able to be obtained when necessary.

With newfound confidence and skills, Cameron began applying for jobs on Seek, and just a short time after, was offered employment as a Disability Support Worker.

“Male support workers are highly demanded,” Cameron notes, expressing his interest in further study with genU Training to continue becoming even more employable. “I want to keep getting more experience with different clients, so I’m considering a CHC43315 Certificate in Mental Health next,” he says.

Well done, Cameron! We’re excited to see where your studies take you next!
