Apply online or in person
Apply for a short course or qualification online directly from the course page or contact us to arrange assistance from our team.
The application form
Many of our accredited qualifications and skill sets are government funded. This means training for eligible students is discounted or free. To access government funding for you, we are required to collect more information and the application form includes more questions.
Most of our short courses are non-accredited and fee for service – paid by the student or their workplace. We don’t require as much information so the application form is shorter.
genU Training is committed to creating a respectful and inclusive environment for all learners. As part of our registration as an RTO, we are required to report certain demographic data, and the systems we currently use limit some response options. While these questions are a legal requirement and do not affect the quality of training we deliver, we acknowledge that they may not fully capture the diverse range of identities and experiences, particularly regarding gender, disability, legal and preferred names and employment status.
To better support our inclusive community, we may ask for additional information during the Pre-Training Review Interview, including your preferred name, gender identity, disability, or other relevant details. This ensures we meet reporting requirements, provide appropriate learning supports, and communicate with you in a way that aligns with your preferences. Your input is valued and helps us create a learning experience that respects and reflects who you are.
Accredited applications
What will you need?
To complete your application, you will need to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This is a lifelong education number. If you do not already have one, you can create one here.
To obtain a USI you will need to provide verified proof of identity such as an Australian Passport or Visa, birth certificate, drivers licence, Medicare card, certificate of registration by descent, Centrelink concession card, citizenship certificate or ImmiCard. Find out more about verifying your documentation here.
Your pre-training review
Everyone completing an accredited qualification or skill set must complete a one-on-one pre-training review to help us understand your aspirations and training needs so we can ensure the course you have selected is suitable for you.
Some courses require minimum skill levels, accreditation, licences or pre-checks. We’ll assess your language, literacy and numeracy skills, and conduct the necessary checks to make sure you meet any course requirements.
If you are applying for government subsidised training in Victoria, South Australia or New South Wales, you will need to provide proof of citizenship and/or residency at your pre-training review. You will need to apply for a course intake that is delivered in your state to access government funding.
If you are a concession card holder, you may also need to present this at your pre-training review.
At your pre-training review, you will need to complete a consent form to allow genU Training to share your personal information for the purpose of completing your studies.
Enrolment offer
If you meet the requirements, you will be offered a place in your chosen course. If you accept the offer, you must complete your enrolment to secure your place.
