Renewable Energy: Solar Construction Safety and Tech Essentials includes the following nationally accredited units:
- CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- BSBCMM211 Apply communication skills
On successful completion, learners will receive a Statement of Attainment for all accredited units.

During your study, you will need to meet specific requirements that are necessary for you to complete your course work and be successful:
- Students will need to demonstrate that they have the appropriate language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills
What you will learn?
Day 1: CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
· Introduction to Construction Safety: Importance and overview of Australian work health and safety laws.
· Identifying and Reporting Hazards: Common site hazards, risk assessment, and reporting procedures.
· Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Types, fitting, and maintenance.
· Safe Work Practices: Manual handling, working at heights, and electrical safety basics.
· Emergency Procedures: Fire safety, evacuation, and first response to accidents.
Day 2: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
· First Aid Basics: Assessing emergencies, calling for help.
· CPR Techniques: For adults, children, and infants; using AEDs.
· Treating Wounds and Bleeding: Controlling bleeding, cleaning, and dressing wounds.
· Managing Fractures, Sprains, and Strains: Immobilisation techniques, RICE method.
· Environmental Emergencies: Handling heat exhaustion, heatstroke, hypothermia, frostbite.
Day 3: BSBCMM211 Apply communication skills
· Professional Communication: Verbal, non-verbal, active listening.
· Customer Service: Understanding needs, handling inquiries, and complaints.
· Technical Communication: Explaining solar technology, writing reports.
· Team Communication: Collaborating, feedback.
· Safety Communication: Hazards communication, toolbox talks.
· Digital Tools: Project management software, effective email and messaging.
Day 4 and 5:
· Introduction to Solar PV Systems: Basics of photovoltaics, components of a 12V solar system.
· Site Assessment and Planning: Evaluating sunlight exposure, panel placement.
· Mounting Systems: Types, installation of roof attachments and rails.
· Solar Panel Installation: Handling, positioning, securing panels.
· Electrical Wiring Basics: Series and parallel connections, wire sizing, selection.
· Practical Assessment: Hands-on exercises for mounting systems and wiring.
