Additionally, it covers the urinary system, focusing on catheterisation, including suprapubic catheters, and the care of catheter systems. The integumentary section addresses skin integrity, pressure ulcers, and skin tear management, highlighting effective care strategies and prevention techniques. This comprehensive overview equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed for effective management and care of these vital body systems.

- Understanding Digestive Anatomy and Function: Identify and describe the parts of the digestive system, including the salivary glands and their role in digestion.
- Digestion Process and Pathologies: Explain the journey of food through the digestive system and recognise signs of impaired bowel function and common bowel diseases.
- Management of Stomas: Understand the reasons for, and care of, ileostomies, colostomies, and urostomies, including the use and management of various pouching systems.
- Urinary System Care: Describe the components of the urinary system and the procedures for catheterisation, including suprapubic catheters, and manage catheter-related complications.
- Integumentary System and Skin Care: Explain the structure and function of the skin and apply principles of skin integrity management to prevent and address pressure ulcers and skin tears.
- Procedural Skills: Demonstrate the proper techniques for administering rectal suppositories and Microlax, and managing various types of pouches, including emptying and disposal.
- Care Strategies: Implement effective care strategies for maintaining skin integrity, managing stoma sites, and handling urinary and digestive system appliances
