Learn the fundamental skills of risk management, preventing illness, injury and endangerment with genU’s trainings ‘Assess Operational Risk’ course.

This course includes establishing the risk context by identifying, analysing and evaluating risk while meeting WHS and occupational policy. You will receive hands on experience participating in a team-based project, learn to follow procedures and prepare reports while working effectively with others.

Study requirements

During your study, you will need to meet specific requirements that are necessary for you to complete your course work and be successful:

  • Students will need to demonstrate that they have the appropriate language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills
  • Effective communication, documentation and research skills
  • Be able to complete assessments in the workplace
  • Access to digital technologies (e.g. laptop, desktop, tablet-computer and/or smartphone) with basic digital literacy skills.

In this course, you will gain knowledge around how WHS affects you personally, about the fundamental cores of risk management, and about preventing illness, injury and endangerment.

In this course you will:

  • Participate in a team-based project
  • Identify, analyse and evaluate risk
  • Follow organisational policies and procedures including Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements
  • Prepare WHS/OHS reports
  • Work effectively with others

On-campus (day): Study face to face, in a classroom setting.

Virtual Training Room – Study in real time online with instructor-led sessions via video conferencing, supplemented with guided activities via the Learning Management System (eLearning)
