Embed Fundamentals. Strengthen Explore. Identify more career goals.
Fundamentals for Jobseekers is a guided, AI-supported course designed for Inclusive Employment Australia providers.
The course helps ECs, Job Coaches and jobseekers work together to build trust, explore interests and strengths, identify conditions for success, develop career themes and confirm a clear career goal.
Aligned to Fundamentals for Inclusive Employment, this course gives providers a practical way to embed the same language, framework and person-centred approach with jobseekers across the Explore stage.
Course Overview
Fundamentals for Jobseekers supports Inclusive Employment Australia providers to strengthen the Explore stage by giving jobseekers and their EC or Job Coach a guided process to work through together.
The course is designed to help jobseekers better understand themselves, what matters to them, what they are good at, what they need to succeed and what kind of work could be right for them.
Through practical portfolio activities, jobseekers are supported to build a personal record of their employment journey, including their why, interests, skills, needs, career themes and career goal/success plan. The course is not designed to be completed alone. It is a collaborative process between the jobseeker and their EC or Job Coach.
By completion, the jobseeker will have completed the Explore phase, confirmed a career goal, and be ready to move into the Progress phase with their EC. The course also introduces the genU Training AI App, which supports jobseekers to practise communication, soft skills and interview readiness at their own pace.

Peter Bacon: CEO, Disability Employment Australia
“Early engagement is critical to long-term employment success, yet many jobseekers enter services without a clear understanding of their goals, strengths, support needs or what meaningful employment could look like for them. Fundamentals for Jobseekers addresses this challenge in a practical, person-centred and highly accessible way.
By creating a shared language between jobseekers and Employment Consultants through the Explore–Progress–Deliver framework, the program helps build trust, confidence and clarity from the very beginning of the employment journey. It is an important example of the kind of evidence-informed, co-designed capability development our sector needs to support stronger engagement and more sustainable employment outcomes for people with disability.”
