A much-needed change to remote studies with genU Training helped busy mum Amy to reskill for a new family friendly industry.

After years of working in the live music industry, the Ballarat resident knew she needed to switch up her career. Amy started a nursing degree but once COVID hit, she needed to find an easier way to get qualified.

“Having a new baby, home schooling and attempting a Bachelor Degree was too much to stay on top of,” Amy said.

“Enter genU Training, who turned out to be the best Google result ever!”

“I started my Certificate III in Individual Support in 2022. Every person I’ve encountered through adult learning at genU Training has been so friendly and helpful, especially my trainer Michelle McNally, who was truly an absolute star of an educator. I really can’t thank her enough for making online learning such an understandable, manageable and enjoyable experience.”

Amy said genU Training gave her the chance to study at her own pace and when it was convenient for her.

“The course load was manageable and after my initial nerves with online learning, the zoom classes became something I looked forward to every week. Every step of the way I was offered support and assistance if I needed it.”

“Fast forward 12 months and genU Training organised an amazing facility for me to complete my placement. I really got to see what working in the industry would be like, which was a huge benefit and then they offered me a job! I could not be happier.”
