Assessing applications

All applications are reviewed after the closing date and shortlisted applicants are contacted within a few weeks. We’ll then arrange interviews, reference checks and any necessary skills tests. Once someone is appointed to the role, all candidates are informed of the outcome of their application.

Proof of qualifications

Employment offers are conditional on successful applicants providing original or certified copies of any relevant qualifications and licences. Photocopies of these are kept on the employee’s personnel file.

Background checks

Successful applicants are required to undergo pre-screening such as a Police Check or Working with Children Check before starting a role.

Medical checks and pre-existing illnesses

All new employees are required to complete a pre-existing injury declaration. Some may be asked to undergo a medical assessment relating to skills required for their job.

Probationary period

Every genU employee is subject to a six (6)-month qualifying period in the role.
