“SMAR Your Virtual Work Readiness Program“ which prepares individuals of all ages in readiness for employment
Consisting of two steps:
Step 1 – Self-paced, interactive Employability Skills eLearning module (Online)Study at your own pace (you will have 12 months access to the digital backpack), comprising of learning and knowledge tasks introducing Employability Skills. |
Step 2 – Choose one of 4 industry sector courses available (Virtual Training Room)Study in real time online with instructor-led sessions via video conferencing, supplemented with guided activities via the Learning Management System (eLearning)
Upon successful completion of an industry sector course (Step 2), you will earn a recognised Training U For Work microcredential (digital badge) which is a great addition to your resume and can be verified by an employer anywhere, any time!
or choose the “Pathway to Community Services”“Pathway to Community Services” micro-credential will allow you to undertake the nationally accredited unit of competency CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people, where you can gain a credit towards one of many Community Service qualifications available. |

SMAR Your Virtual Work Readiness Program
SMAR Your Virtual Work Readiness Program prepares job seekers of all ages in preparation for employment and is tested and proven to engage, offering in-demand employment focused industry sector training.
The program commences with students receiving access to the “SMAR Your Virtual Work Readiness Program” via mobile, tablet or computer, followed by the opportunity to join a virtual classroom in one of our in-demand courses.
Upon completing the “SMAR Your Virtual Work Readiness Program“, students continue their learning journey through a series of virtual “Work Readiness” courses, which includes a range of in-demand accredited and non-accredited employment focused and industry sector course designed to kick start careers.
What is SMAR?
After six months in OES (Online Employment Services) you will need to participate in an approved activity, study or paid work that allows you to build your skills and confidence, so that you are ready for your next job. We call this the Six Month Activity Requirement (SMAR).
This requirement will apply to you if you have been in OES for six months on or after 1 October 2021.
This course will commence with Step 1 – Self-paced interactive eLearning module (Online) where you learn and develop your Employability Skills.

- Cleaning Industry Ready (ONLINE)
- The Virtual Contact Centre Experience (ONLINE)
Upon successful completion of each course, you will earn a recognised Training U For Work micro-credential which is a great addition to your resume and can be verified by an employer anywhere, any time!
When you study with genU Training, we want you to succeed. Entry requirements allow us to make sure that you have the right pre-existing knowledge and skills to achieve your chosen course. You will need to provide evidence that you meet the requirements listed in this section.

Study requirements
During your study, you will need to meet specific requirements that are necessary for you to complete your course work and be successful:
1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy
Students will need to demonstrate that they have the appropriate language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills
2. Your time / equipment
The SMAR Your Virtual Work Readiness course is an 8 week commitment. Please ensure you allow time for yourself to be available to complete.
3. Your workstation
Make sure you have a suitable area to complete your training, e.g. Desk/table, comfortable chair, no tripping hazards and room to move around for assessment.
Please make sure you’ve got access to water/tea/coffee (you will also get a lunch break)
4. Your setup
Your training can be completed anywhere you have access to data/Wifi on a Desktop Computer, Laptop, Tablet or Mobile Phone. You will need to download & have access to Zoom (video conference software) prior to your training, this will allow you to login to your ‘live’ training sessions, you can do this by searching Zoom in:

You must complete your online enrolment to gain access to the Learning Management System (LMS) online learning login details
