Safe Practices for Food Processing

genU Training has created this program to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required for your next employment adventure in food production.  You will learn to incorporate safe work practices, use personal hygiene practices and develop the skills required to interpret and respond to information in the workplace in print or digital form. This will equip you with the skills necessary to work in entry level roles in the food manufacture, food processing and dairy industry.

Day 1 and 2

Do you know how to identify a food hazard? Or when to report any personal health issues? After day 1 and 2 you will. You’ll also learn how to prevent food contamination and how to follow hygienic procedures in regards to food.

Day 3 and 4

Day 3 and 4 are all about working safely, following procedures for emergency situations and how to participation in organisational WHS practices. You will also take part in fun and interactive tasks such as making butter or a related product and working within a team.

Course Inclusions

Upson successful completion, a nationally recognised statement of attainment and a certificate of participation will be issued for the following units of competency

  • SITXWHS001 Participate in safe work practices
  • SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety
  • FSKRDG10 Read and respond to routine workplace information

COVID-19 Requirements

To ensure a safe training environment, all social distancing requirements will be enforced within a disinfected venue. Each student will be provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment, including a face mask, gloves and access to hand sanitiser/hand washing facilities.
