This classroom based microcredential prepares you for work in baggage handling and ground crew roles within the Airline / Aviation industry.

genU Training have developed a 5-day microcredential that will help prepare you for work in this thriving industry.

In this training you will gain the skills and knowledge required to incorporate manual handling into workplace activities, follow predetermined health, safety and security procedures and participate in organisational work health and safety (WHS) management practices. 


 

 

This course includes non-accredited content with the addition of the following nationally accredited unit(s):

  • SITXWHS001 Participate in safe work practices
  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid

What will you learn?

  • Identify, assess and minimise immediate hazards
  • Working safely in the workplace
  • Following procedures for emergency situations
  • How to participate in organisational WHS practices
  • Assess the casualty and identify injuries or conditions
  • Provide first aid management
  • Correctly operate first aid equipment
  • Request ambulance support and/or appropriate medical assistance
  • Accurately report details of a casualty’s physical condition.

Day Session
Day 1

9:30am – 4:00pm

Introduction

Welcome to Airline Industry Essentials – Ground Crew!
Today you will learn an introduction to the Airline Industry and the baggage and ground crew role. This will include manual handling techniques and correct procedures associated with handling luggage and heavy items, plus commencement of the HLTAID011 Provide first aid within our LMS.

Day 2

9:30am – 4:00pm

SITXWHS001 Participate in safe work practices

Today you will learn how to work safely in the workplace following procedures for emergency situations, reporting hazards and emergency incidents according to organisational procedures. 

You will learn to interpret workplace safety signs and conduct emergency evacuation plans in a simulated situation. This will include basic template reports about hazards and emergency incidents according to organisational and operational procedures. 

Day 3 & 4

9:30am – 4:00pm

HLTAID011 Provide first aid

Today you will learn how to respond to an emergency, provide appropriate first and how to perform CPR. 

Day 5

9:30am – 4:00pm

Completion

Today will include role playing interview techniques, work readiness, peer to peer feedback plus the finalisation of all accredited units. Today will also include a graduation lunch and microcredential presentation

Upon successful completion, you will earn a recognised Training U For Work microcredential which is a great addition to your resume and can be verified by an employer anywhere, any time!

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Upon successful completion, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued for the following units of competency:

  • SITXWHS001 Participate in safe work practices
  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid
