Who should enrol in a Certificate III in Individual Support? 

Becoming an individual support worker is an option for those finishing school, considering a career change or those already working in the sector without formal qualifications. Gaining this qualification will enhance your career opportunities and/or help you prepare for further studies.

Certificate III in Individual Support is a prerequisite for Certificate IV in Disability Support.

Students must be 17 years of age or older to enrol in Certificate III in Individual Support. You should have the physical capacity for manual handling and you must have an NDIS Worker Screening Check (which includes a police check) to complete work placement.

What to expect…

You can study Certificate III in Individual Support with genU Training on-campus or using a blend of virtual training sessions via Zoom and 8 on-campus sessions. You will attend structured learning (either on-campus or virtually) one day or night per week. There will be additional research activities, reflections and assessments to complete in your own time via the Learning Management System (LMS).

All of our qualifications are delivered part-time to enable you to manage work and life around your study commitments.

This qualification includes 15 nationally accredited units of study and requires a minimum of 120 hours of work placement to ensure you have hands-on experience and are job ready by the completion of your course. We will help you source appropriate work placement that satisfies the learning outcomes of the qualification.
