Embracing the opportunity to learn

The desire for a career change and an interest in working in a hospital environment is what drew Mary Joy to studying a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support. Having friends already enjoying being enrolled with genU Training made Mary Joy’s decision about where to complete the course simple.

Currently working as a cleaner and a housekeeper, Mary Joy began the certificate in February and is on track to complete it by the end of the year. It is providing her the opportunity to learn everything about the aged care industry before finding a job.

“I love what I do because it helps me gain more skills and widen my knowledge,” Mary Joy said.

“It helps me to have more of an understanding about aged care, and it is a very in demand and rewarding career.”

Looking forward to coming to genU Training each week makes it easy for Mary Joy to enjoy what she’s learning.

“Every Tuesday I am always excited to go to school and I look forward to the day ahead,” Mary Joy said.

“We have very good and very helpful assessors and staff. I learn so much and it has made me have more confidence.”

Mary Joy is pleased about undertaking workplace training while completing the certificate so that she is prepared for seeking employment.

“genU Training is a good start for people to pursue the career they want. They are very helpful and they won’t let you down,” she said.
